Numerous accidents during Pi May

Many accidents occur during the Lao New Year.
ASAS has already supported several affected families by paying for hospitalization and care costs.

Jo was born with a cleft lip. ASAS funded his two operations, one in Luang Prabang and the other in Vientiane, allowing him to smile again.

The healthcare system in Laos is very limited, and care is only accessible to the wealthiest segment of the population. Insurance is virtually nonexistent, and when someone needs medical attention, self-medication with herbal remedies or consulting shamans are the most common practices.

Furthermore, hospitals are often very far from the villages, requiring several hours of travel to reach them. Sometimes, villagers pool their resources to pay for travel and hospitalization costs, as all medical care (even in extreme emergencies) must be paid for in advance.

ASAS has been asked more than once to cover the hospitalization or treatment costs of certain people who do not have the necessary income to pay.

Feel free to contribute to our work by making a donation to the association.

All of this is thanks to you!

In Laos, all healthcare costs are 100% the responsibility of families, although in some cases this is impossible. ASAS has had the opportunity to assist some individuals who requested help with health-related questions.
