The Community House

This house, completed in 2025, provides accommodation for children from remote villages so they can continue their schooling.

Many children in isolated villages face difficulties accessing education. Most of these children have to walk several kilometers and often drop out of school at age 12 due to a lack of financial resources and transportation.

This project was conceived by a former student, Onchan, and supported by ASAS several years ago. Onchan is intimately familiar with the needs of people in these villages.

The house is managed by young adults who have lived in Luang Prabang for some time, ensuring proper supervision while maintaining their connection to their communities.

The community house comprises 10 apartments located near the universities in the city center and hospitals. It addresses a genuine need for children from isolated villages, allowing them to continue their schooling while remaining within their communities. The house also welcomes people from these villages, allowing them to visit family in the city or providing them with accommodation in case of a medical emergency. It also serves as a transit point for families and a permanent residence for children attending school in the city.

Accommodation is one thing, but there are many other expenses to manage, such as school fees, clothing, food, and so on. ASAS is constantly seeking sponsors for these young students.
