Community House

This house will provide accommodation for children from remote villages, allowing them to continue their education.

Many children in remote villages face significant challenges in accessing education. Most of them must walk several kilometers and often leave school by the age of 12 due to financial constraints and lack of transportation. For this reason, L’ASAS aims to create a second community house to accommodate more children from distant villages, allowing them to continue their education for as long as possible.

This project was conceived by a former student, Onchan, who has been supported by L’ASAS for several years. Onchan has a deep understanding of the needs of village communities, and L’ASAS wants to ensure these needs are met. The dormitory will be managed by young adults who have been living in Luang Prabang for some time, providing proper supervision while maintaining a connection to their community. The project aims to create 10 apartments near the city center’s universities and hospitals.

This community house addresses a real need for children from isolated villages, allowing them to continue their schooling while staying connected to their community. It will also accommodate people from remote villages, enabling them to visit family in the city or providing housing in case of medical emergencies. The house will serve both as a transit point for families and as a permanent residence for children attending school in the city.
